Sevilla. 24th-28th March 2025

Rationale

RATIONALE

With the second iteration of the PMI technical and team meeting and science meeting for Sunrise III, this event will provide an important opportunity to discuss progress, lessons learned and next steps for both missions. The meeting will be held at the Spanish Space Agency in Seville.

PMI, on board ESA's Vigil mission, will play a crucial role in space weather forecasting by mapping the Sun's magnetic field from L5. This unique vantage point allows early detection of solar activity that could affect Earth. During the meeting, the status of PMI development after PDR will be discussed.

For Sunrise III, this will be the second dedicated science meeting, with an overview of the SUSI, TuMag and SCIP data. Discussions will focus on the first processed science results, as well as hands-on sessions with the data. Sunrise III's high-resolution observations of the solar atmosphere provide unprecedented observations that will be explored in detail.

This meeting will bring together experts to share knowledge, evaluate instrument performance and define the next steps to maximise the scientific and operational impact of both missions.
